Ohhhhh beautiful Malibu.

We don’t want to hear complaints.

We understand how long it takes to get there.

We know it can be a trek(from anywhere in Los Angeles) or that Malibu has terrible cell-phone service, but *relax* Angelenos – Malibu is ALWAYS worth the trip.

Take a break from your selfies for a bit & enjoy the view – & the PCH.

Ever been to Westward Beach?

Shhhh, don’t tell anyone else about it.

It’s kind of our favorite beach in Los Angeles.

For years, besides watching dolphins & seals, we’ve been lucky enough to spot whales playing near in the waves near the shore.

Top of the trail-head

Don’t feel like just sitting on your beach blanket- on the very south side of the parking lot, you’ll see the start of the trail.

Easy, kid-friendly & with gorgeous North & South facing views.

But if you love relaxing in the warm sand, taking a dip in the water & chillin’- you’ll appreciate this quiet section of this beach.

We rarely recommend paying for parking – it’s totally worth it in this case.

Now that you feel like you’ve been on a mini vacation, we 100% suggest either driving North towards Neptune’s Net- watch the surfers & maybe get a bite to eat or take a completely different direction & head out to Malibu Creek Park.

Malibu Creek State Park is pretty perfect for adventurous kids.

There’s a good chance you’ll spot deer & an even better chance that they’ll feel comfortable exploring the park.

When it’s hot, it’s worth the walk over to wade into the water.

Our kids would spend every day, all day here if they could.

No Regrets

In all the years that we have been going out to Malibu, we have never regretted making the trip.

If you don’t bring a picnic, try brunch at The Sunset, fish & chips at Neptune’s Net or any of the seafood at Malibu Seafood.

Maybe we’re sentimental, but old school Malibu is kind of the best.
