hollywood farmers market

Welcome to the Hollywood Farmers Market
First time at the Holiday Farmers Market
Our first Hollywood experience years ago wasn’t at a trendy club, checking out Mann’s Chinese Theater or the Hollywood Walk of Fame… it was actually at the Hollywood Farmers’ Market!
I remember passing Tim Curry with his bag of farmers’ vegetables thinking, “so cool that he’s here early, too – shopping.”
This market isn’t our community market, yet we promise it’s easy to get to from most parts of Los Angeles. Just leave on the earlier side of Sunday morning & there’s $6 parking at the structure on Ivar & Sunset.

The market is open for business!
Hollywood Farmers Market adventure
Usually our Farmers’ market blog adventures involve our favorite things to do in that neighborhood.
In this case we would say, come early, walk through the entire market, & find a spot to relax – take it all in, take some pictures, eat some food, or even just sit & people-watch.
The HFM (Hollywood Farmers’ Market) is HUGE, & maybe the biggest certified market in the country.
Imagine fresh-from-the farm fruits & vegetables, locally made bread, honey, & coffee – knife sharpening, live music (in two different spots!), & made to order, local cuisine.
You probably already knew this, right? But, did you know they have an artisanal product section of the market?
PERFECT for gift finding.

Spotted: colorful, woven purses

Just finished a Nuvo Olive Oil sampling- love family-owned businesses!

SO many smock prints she loved, along with this Walrus & Hedgehog cookie.

We loved the stories behind each piece.

We found our new favorite scents – soaps & oils made in Los Angeles.

How cool are these hand carved pieces by Stoverink? Any guess what’s on the other side of this board?

We love the fact that his brother has a similar stand in one of our favorite places (San Angel) in Mexico City.

Spicy, caliente sauce made in Boyle Heights by El Machete. Ohhh & their chili oil is amazing.

Smelling & picking out our own loose leaf tea from Nya Tea.

Last stop, picking out our favorite vegetables, herbs & beans.
Don’t worry… we took a break to eat some freshly made tacos, drink some aqua de sandia, & to sit on the sidewalk & eat Crack Nuts almonds.
Throughout the holidays, come check out barrio.la at the artisan & crafts section, near Selma & Cahuenga. We are excited to offer gift boxes, bags, & baskets filled with market-fresh goods – & some of our own products from our local, L.A. partners.
